According to one of his latest twitter updates, Matt Thiessen from Relient K is working on a solo record. Whether this will be under his previous solo project "Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes" or under a new name is not yet known.

Lebron Top of the World
With the NBA finals recently over and done with for 2010 I was reminded of a little ditty entitled "Lebron Top of the World" which was posted on Matt Thiessen's myspace (Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes) page a couple of years back. Matt Thiessen composed a short ode to his favourite NBA player (Lebron James) and team (Cleveland Cavaliers). Full song and lyrics after the jump.

What does Matthew Thiessen say about the next Jack's Mannequin record?

Interview with LiveDaily tells Matthew Thiessen collaborating with Katy Perry and Jack's Mannequin
In a recent interview with LiveDaily Matthew Thiessen has said "I used to date Katy Perry back in the day and we're still really good friends. She called me up in December and had me help with one of her new songs. I'm a big fan of Jack's Mannequin and I got to write four and a half songs on the new Jack's Mannequin record. He's recording that right now." Both of those albums look like they're coming out this summer and fall (respectively).
